CIMPA Research School: Galois Theory for Difference Equations

From July 23 to August 3, the CIMPA Research School: Galois Theory for Difference Equations will take place in the city of Santa Marta (Colombia).

The aim of this school is to introduce the younger researchers and graduate students from Colombia and north of Latin America to recent results in difference equations.

We will focalize on Galois theory for linear systems of difference equations and present it from different perspectives: algorithmic, algebraic, analytic, arithmetical and geometrical. We will insist on the interplay between all these aspects and applications to arithmetic or to integrability of dynamical systems.

Registration period for Colombian participants who apply for finantial suport, until May 31st of 2012. International participants consult the CIMPA web site.

Confirmed courses:

Algebraic and Algorithmic Aspects of Difference Equations
Michael Singer - North Carolina State University

Arithmetic of q-difference equations
Charlotte Hardouin - Université Paul Sabatier, Toulouse
Lucia Di Vizio - Universite Paris 7

Analytic study of complex linear q-difference equation
Jacques Sauloy - Université Paul Sabatier

Differential equations with polynomial coeffcients and log-Riemann surface theory
Ricardo Perez-Marco - Université Paris 13
